News and Announcements from the WPP:

Peace: Men & Women as Allies
Public Event of WPP, in cooperation with Humanity House

May 28 - 19.30 to 21.30
Location: Humanity House, The Hague, The Netherlands

With Mr. Frans Timmermans, Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, as special guest!

Click here for the flyer and here for an overview of the program and speakers!

Sustainable peace concerns everyone – men and women – as acknowledged by the UN Security Council Resolution 1325. Unfortunately, women are rarely involved as equals during peacebuilding processes, despite women’s tremendous efforts for peace worldwide. This is connected to the existence of gender inequality in society at large, which implies that women end up struggling to be seen and recognized as key partners for community development and peacebuidling.

Speakers:
Twenty activists – from a variety of countries – ranging from Pakistan to Kenya and from Ghana to Lebanon – will travel to The Netherlands and will share their stories regarding their work as allies for the Women, Peace and Security Agenda.
